Notarial Services

Notarial certifications for use in Israel and abroad, including certified translation between Hebrew and English.

Avraham S. Ben-Tzvi is a licensed Israeli notary. The firm provides the full range of notarial certifications, most often for clients whose documents have to be recognised in another country, or whose foreign documents have to be recognised here.

Notarial certification of a translation is a distinct service from translation itself: the notary certifies that the translation is a correct rendering of the original, which is what institutions and courts require.

Most notarial work is urgent, procedural, and fails on a technicality. It is worth asking before the document is drafted, not after it is rejected.

What we handle

Certifications
Certification of signatures, certification that a copy is a true copy, and certification of a life certificate.
Translations
Notarial certification of the correctness of a translation between Hebrew and English.
Declarations
Affidavits and notarial declarations for use before Israeli and foreign authorities.
Powers of attorney
Notarial powers of attorney, including those intended for use abroad and those executed abroad for use in Israel.

Documents for use abroad

A notarial certification intended for use in another country will usually require an apostille, issued by the Israeli courts or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rather than by the notary. Tell us where the document is going and what it is for, and we will set out what the receiving institution is likely to require.

How we work

  • Confirmation of what the receiving institution actually requires, before drafting.
  • Appointments arranged promptly, since this work is usually against a deadline.
  • Fees for notarial acts are fixed by regulation and will be quoted in advance.
